Introduction

For communication between the regions of the empire, the Incas built a network of roads called “Inca Trail”. These roads were built of stone, for two to three people to travel accompanied by their llamas. One of the most conserved roads is the one that connects Cusco to Machu Picchu. Going through this path leads the visitor to return to a millenary past, seeing geographical scenarios of great magnitude. Throughout 42 km mysterious landscapes and archaeological vestiges are observed, with a rich flora and countless species of fauna in their natural habitat. It is worth remembering that the Inca Trail is one of the most important trekking paths and camps in the world. a height of 3000 to 3400 meters.

The Inca Trail Short 2 days is a short version of the famous Classic Inca Trail 4 days, plus it is a great option for those people who do not have much time and also for those whose physical condition and age do not help in a longer trek and do not want to miss a unique experience.

For this trip we will use the train as transportation is the only option to KM 104 and walk to the archaeological complex of Wiñayhuayna, and soon we will go to Inti Punku (Sun Gate of call) at 2,650 masl, where we can see a breathtaking sunsets and then continue to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a hotel.

In the morning we will depart to the citadel of Machu Picchu, where we will enjoy the sunrise in this fantastic place before the arrival of people coming by train.

We will take our time to get all the information about Machu Picchu, with our guide (approx. 2 ½ hours) by the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the 3 windows, sundial, the Temple of the Condor and the botanical garden and more, then you will have some free time to walk around the outskirts of “Machu Picchu” or climb Wayna Picchu, where you can see the entire citadel of Machu Picchu, with its valleys and mountains surrounding the entire lost citadel.
